The Squid Scarf Pattern PDF

The Squid Scarf is a Splatoon-inspired winter hood, scarf, mitten combo for gamers and cosplayers who like to splatter paint.

This pattern was created in response to my 11-year-old daughter’s request for a handmade inkling costume based on her favorite Nintendo video game, Splatoon. It has become tradition for me to make hats for halloween costumes that can continue to be worn through the cold Michigan winters.

Pressed for time and looking to create something warm and fun to wear, I decided not to try to create an exact replica of the inkling hair depicted in the video game. Instead, I focused on designing something that could be made the night before Halloween or a cosplay event. While I don’t necessarily recommend deadline crafting to others, it’s one of my specialties and this pattern was created with deadlines in mind. So round up your supplies, read the directions through before you start and you will be able to kick out a squid scarf ASAP.
